Spring Break!!!!
Posted February 5, 2007 by Agilityluver

In about two months my mommy's brothers and sister-in-laws are going to come visit!!!!!!!!!
our house is going to be sooooooo full!!!!
already, its my siblings, mommy, and mommys parents!!!
well, mommy has three brothers, and they are all married with kids!!! I cant wait!!!! first mommy has 4 nephews and a niece that i LOVE to play with, but..... my FAVORITE part is that they are all brining thier pets!!!!!!!!!!!

Scince our family is spread out, they didnt want to board there pets while they were gone, so they are bring them all with them!!!!!!!!!!
so....in addition to our house/barn full we will have three springer Spaniels, 5 Bulldogs, and two Golden retrievers staying with us!!!!!!!!!! Its gunna be a little crazy, mommy's mom still dosnt know where all they doggys are going to stay, since 13 dogs, mostly all over 40 lbs, are a tad to big to keep in the house!!!!!!!!! Scince it is soooo cold here(its in the 30's i think) mommy's mom says that the springers and mabey the goldens can stay in the two emty stalls of the barn(they all grew up around horses so they are fine with Rocky and Bullwinkle), but the bulldogs are, "too fragile" to stay in the barn, so they will be inside too!!!!! Its going to be crazy!!!!!!!

New Dog!!!

I am excited to announce that while I was volenteering at our local animal shealter I stumbled upon a gourgous blue merel-ish Border Collie/Australian Sheapard cross!!! As it turns out, this poor baby is one and a half years old, and has been through five homes already!!! She is SUPER hyper 24/7, but after much "disscussion" in our household, my parents finally said yes to bringing her home(we bring her home saterday!!!!)!!! The reason that she was bounced around from house to house so much is because, as anyone who has owned a BC or Aussie or simalar breed knows, these dogs NEED a job. Her first owner adopted her as a birthday prent for his son(it makes me so mad when people do that!!!) then after a week his kid decided he didnt want a puppy any more!! her second owner decided she was too much of a pain after a month in her home, her third owner didnt take the time to train this 8 month old pup, and by 10 months, she had never even had a leash on and was becoming out of control. her fourth owner thought she knew how to handle a good sized, super exuberent dog, and tried her had at training her, and did a pretty good job at it, in a months time, the dog could walk loosly on a leash(a BIG acomplishment for her), sit, "dance", lay down, stay, and come, but then, fate intervened, and her owner had to move out of state and couldnt keep her.  thats when she went back to the shealter AGAIN, and was eventually adopted by her FIFTH owner, who decided she was too much of a pain. He brought her to our shealter(who actually takes the time to screen future owners so this dosnt happen), where I finally found her!!!

from the time I have spent with her at the shealter, she LOVES to play fetch, and Tug, and seems to be extremly smart(she learnd to roll over reliably in about an hour)  and I think she will be a GREAT agility dog(even with what shes been through she absolutly loves every one and everything)

well, I'll keep you posted on how she is doing, and post pics as soon as I can!!!

Well, mom figured out how she got out!!! Apparently mommy's dad was watching this whole ordeal!!!(we dont know why he didnt tell someone, Hailey could have gotten hurt!!) well, Hailey somehow climed a four foot fence, yes, climed, even though she's only 11 inches tall at the withers!!! well anyway, she climed the fence, then ran all the way down our driveway, and up the hill to the barn(the picture in our gallary of the barn was taken from the front porch) then went through the barn into the pasture, where she then proceded to try and herd Bullwinkle(her breed was originally used as the herder of the family poltry flock in Cuba). well, that gets us to where I told you yesterday!!! mom is still trying to figure out a way to stop Hailey from escaping!!!

Hailey is sooo silly!!!

today she decided to escape from the doggy portion of the yard, and follow mommy to the pasture, where she proceded to try and herd Bullwinkle around the pasture. Mommy was riding Rocky, and she saw Bullwinkle cantering in the pasture next to her, and a few seconds later, she saw Hailey running full speed behind him!! Mommy rode Rocky over to the gate, where she dismounted and went into the pasture. Hailey saw mommy, and stoped dead, then she ran back toward the house with mommy chasing her, Coco and I were watching all the commotion from the yard, it was pretty funny!!!! Then when mommy picked up Hailey, she put her back in the yard, and called for her mommy to come and close the doggy door, and keep Hailey inside untill she could figure out how she got out, Hailey could have gotten hurt!!! well any way, as of now, mommy is still puzzeled at how Hailey got into the pasture, we have a five foot v-mesh fence on that side of the pasture, so its still a mystery!! well, if she figures it out i will be sure to let you know!!!

            Happy as always,
