Boomer: 5-27-05 -11-7-10

Hey everyone I just wanted to let you know that Boomer passed away this afternoon around 1:30 from respiratory infection and cancer of the stomach. He was roughly 5-6 years old and had a wonderful life...Three weeks ago, Boomer stopped talking. He was eating and drinking fine but something was definitely wrong. I googled his symptoms and it seemed like he had a simple respiratory infection. We kept his cage heated and got him some medicine from the local pet store about 5 days ago and he seemed to be doing better. Then, I woke up this morning after I had a sleepover with 2 of my best friends to my mom saying Boomer had alot of bleeding internally. My dad rushed him to the vet with me and one of my friends and the vet suggested that the bleeding was from something else and they were just going to keep him over night. The original prognosis was that we would take him home tomorrow and he would be feeling much better. However, I got a call when i was shopping with my mom and friends today that he had passed away at the vet's. They were running tests on a lump they found near his stomach and he passed before the results came in. They believe it was a tumor (most likely cancerous.) Strange thing is, my grandpa (who both boomer and I were very close to) passed away in January from pneumonia and cancer of the stomach which spread to the liver. He was sick for 3 weeks just like Boomer, and I found out Boomer had passed away in the men's department at Boston Store (where we bought most of my Grandpa's clothes.) As my friend said...Papa wanted Boomer, he missed his bird <3
