Hi everyone! Most of you know that Bunny got much better in the past month. She has "wry" neck and started running and hopping again. The antibiotic that we have been giving her for the past two months ran out five days ago, and we assumed she was finished with the treatment. The vet said as long as she was doing better, it was fine. Bunny went three days without antibiotics and we noticed she was not drinking as much and she seemed real tired all the time. I immediately refilled her antibiotic and started giving it to her three days ago. Yesterday when it was "out time" I opened her cage and found small, clumping pellets all on the floor. Usually her pellets are larger and round. They had stuck to her tale and bottom and I cleaned her off. As I cleaned her off I noticed how much weight she had lost.  Almost a pound in less than three days! I held her water in front of her and she eagerly accepted it and drank for about five minutes. She would not drink it if I hung it on the cage for her. I moved it lower to see if that would help. At bed time she got her pain med and antibiotic, I also gave her four syringe's filled with water, which she accepted happily. She also got two grapes and a carrot which she scarfed down. She will not eat her hay or rabbit food, though. She loves her hay, even when she was at her worst! I called the emergency vet today and they said it sounded like she was dehydrated and she just deteriorated those three days without antibiotic. They said to "baby" her again and make sure she has enough water and food. I am going to buy her some more baby food to syringe feed her tonight, since I threw away her old ones when she got better. I hope it is the antibiotic. I don't feel as if she is giving up because, unlike last time she was this sick she is still walking and rolling around. This morning I found her asleep in her food bowl, she had tried to eat her pellets last night. Thank you everyone for reading this long post, I just needed to get some of this out. I get picked on at work and such a lot because I worry so much about my furry babies! Thanks again!

Last night mommy put me out on the floor and I only fell to my side twice! The rest of the time I hopped (slowly, but I did it) around the floor. My new favorite thing to do is hop around the kitty scratching post tree. I like to hop around things because it is helping my balance. Mommy said she called the doctor to tell him the good news, but he said I still have to take that icky medicine. YUCK! I like the other medicine, though, because it makes my neck not hurt as much. I played with lots of my toys last night, including some paper mama let me play with. She had to take it away, though, because I was trying to eat it. I heard daddy ask mommy if she had told all her friends on "that pet site" how good I was doing. Mommy said yes and that you were all happy for me, so I figured I better muster up the strength to write you all and say thank you for all the support!!!

I am hopping! I am hopping! Mommy made a video so daddy can see since he is at work!! Yay!! I hope everyone is doing okay and once we're done moving I will be a regular on here again...I just couldn't wait to share my good news!!

 

Hi! This is Bunny's mommy. I was just writing to thank everyone for their comments and let them know Bunny is not ignoring them, it is just hard for her to get on here lately. She is doing the same, but walking a little more each day. We are fostering a kitten and the kitten got sick this weekend with a URI, my mom got married and my sister is in the hospital. I have also been sick myself. Thank you everyone for your comments and I promise when I have more time I will help Bunny write to all her wonderful friends!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful mother's day!!!
