Scrub missing for 5 years Found!
Posted December 17, 2010 by Kringle
Five years after Katrina, one cat-loving family has finally recovered from the devastation. Last week, Biloxi, Miss., resident Jennifer Noble got a feline blast from the past when she checked her answering machine. A message from the Humane Society of South Mississippi informed Noble that they had her cat, reports the Sun Herald.

Upon returning the call, Noble discovered that her beloved Russian Blue and Tabby mix that went missing after the hurricane was at the shelter. She had found her long lost kitty, Scrub!

According to the Sun Herald, the Humane Society worker asked Noble if she was missing a gray and white cat. To which Noble replied, "You have my cat! Oh my gosh! That cat has been missing for five years!" Nearly speechless, the worker reportedly told Noble, "'Oh my gosh. Well, Merry Christmas!'"

Fortunately, Scrub had been microchipped before he was lost in the post-Katrina aftermath. A woman living roughly 15 miles away, in Gulfport, Miss., had been feeding the stray cat until recently, when she grew worried about an upcoming cold snap. Upon Scrub's arrival at the Humane Society, workers scanned his microchip and tracked down his owner.

Now that is a Santa miracle!

Michael Vick wants a dog!
Posted December 17, 2010 by Kringle

Michael Vick said that he hopes that the court-ordered ban on him owning a pet will be lifted.

According to the New York Daily News, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback told reporters, "I would love to have another dog. My entire life I grew up with a pet in my house. The last few years were the first that I haven't had one. My daughter is used to it, my son is used to it. It's just different. I feel bad for them and the entire situation, what I did. It could be part of my rehabilitation process showing people I do care about animals sincerely and genuinely."

So what do you think!

The stars of ITV drama Wild At Heart were last night mourning one of their beloved animals, Hamley the giraffe, who died after being struck by lightning.

The seven-year-old animal was killed instantly on Friday during a violent storm on the South African game reserve where the cast films the hit series.

Stephen Tompkinson, who plays vet Danny Trevanion in the series, said: ‘Hamley was the most unique of all animals and that is why we have worked so closely and why we have featured him so heavily in the series.
