Hi everyone. I am very sad; everyone here is in tears. Mandy, our Weimeranier was due to have her puppies this weekend. Mamaw took her to the vet today for a sonagram..by the time they got home Mandy had a very high fever and they had to go back to the doctors. "The doctor said she had a very bad infection and they needed to get the puppies out right away which they did but, sob sob sob, they didn't make it....all five were gone to Rainbow Bridge before they were even born. Sob sob sob.  Poor Mandy has had lots of puppies before and never had any problems.  Now she may not make it either.

FYI ... we don't know if this is the reason for the death of the puppies and the infection, but...dogs can get a disease called Brucellosis. It is like a doggie STD. If the male dog has it and gives it to the female dog when they are together, it can cause her to abort the litter or for them to die.  Any future litter he sires will also suffer the same fate. He will always in the future be a carrier and should be neutered to prevent passing it on further. The disease can also cause sterility. It can infect an entire kennel through bodily secretions and can even infect  humans the same way on occasion.  Anytime you are going to bred your dog, a Vets certification that the dogs are free of this disease should be required if they have been mated before. Mamaw forgot to ask for it this time and the sire had been proven, so... its a possibility.  Mamaw is going to have the doctor do some tests to see if he can tell. The doctor said one of Mandy's puppies had been dead for some time (which could have caused the infection that killed the other puppies and could also cause her death. This dog is very precious to my Mamaw because she was her husband's dog who died suddenly several years ago. If anything should happen to Mandy, she will be devastated. 

So, we are very very sad...we need your prayers for Mandy and Mamaw and for the poor five puppies who are now at Rainbow Bridge waiting for their momma to come home to them one day.  sob sob...Millie 

Hey everybody.  I am so happy.  Mommie is coming tomorrow. I can't wait...cause I know she will spoil me ROT-TIN.   lol  won't that be fun?  I get to talk to her on the fone sometimes. That fone is a weird thing. It sounds just like mom but I can't smell her anywhere but I can hear her just fine and she tells me she loves me and can't wait to see me...then she says to mind Aunt Karen.

Guess what else, my friend Babs (a cocker spaniel) is having babies.  She is due tomorrow. It sounds exciting and I can't wait to not be the baby in the house anymore. Guess it will take up a lot of mom's time while she's here though. But Babs was a beautiful little puppy and her hair is like silk. She has freckles on her chin too.  LOL Mandy, the weimarina, is also going to have babies but not until the next week or two.  Boy, we are going to have so many little puppies running around here pretty soon!  Its gona be like a kennel...lol But I am excited about the babies. I really want to see what that is all about cause I'm gona have some too one day (if it doesn't mess up my girlish figure, that is.)

Hey Yall, Its Friday and I hope everyone is ready to enjoy the weekend.  Its a gloomy, cold and rainy day here. Maybe that is a sign that the weekend is gona be nice.  Hopefully!  I'm frustrated today cause mommy is having lots of trouble with her computer and she has some notes for a meeting that she can't find and she has spent two days now trying to fix the puter and find the danged old notes.  That means no time for me. (not really, just not as much).  I like the play days when we can play outside and GO SHOPPING.  Mommy makes jewelry and I want her to make me and Gabbie a pretty necklace and some color charms...dont you think we deserve some bling too?I mean why should she get all the pretty stuff?  Maybe she'll make me some when the puter is fixed and the notes are found.  Right?

Brother Sunny doesn't feel to good right now.  He went to the groomer the day before yesterday and ever since he's been walking funny and trying to eat himself. Its really weird and not like him at all.  Mommy has looked all over him and felt him up real good (hehehe) but he doesn't seem to mind being touched and she couldn't find anything stuck in his foot or anything but he's definitely not acting right.  I guess if it doesn't improve over the weekend he'll have to go to the doctors...

Mom put us in another contest.  She does that alot.  She put both of us (me and Sunny) in the pretty eyes contest.  And we do have pretty eyes  even if I say so myself (but so do all the other doggies, right?) and she put Sunny in the longest hair contest.  He usually has short hair (a puppy cut) but when the picture was taken it was very grown out and he looked like an old English Sheepdog.  lol  You can't even begin to see his eyes. Its really funny. He looks twice as big as he really is when his hair is long...It just puffs him right out.  Mine will be long one day but its not really long enough to be called long yet. Cause I'm just 6 mt old, you know.  Well I guess that will do today; Mommy has got to get back to work.  HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYBODY.  Hope to talk with you some this weekend.  Lots of Millie Muchies....  Me

Hello all of the PetsPlaces friends and their humans.  This is my first blog.  Since I enjoy reading about the lives of so many of my friends I thought I would give this writing thing a try.  As you know (if you read my page), I live in Lenior with my sister Gabbie and my mom and brother live in Charlotte.  We decided to do this because Gabbie and I are gona make some babies when we get old enough and Aunt Karen wanted us to get to know The Doodle.  LOL  He is our to be stud muffin....Beside Doodle and Gabbie, I also live with Sunny's mom, dad and brother Fluff, as well as a cocker named Babs and a Weimaraner named Mandy. Gosh I think that's all of them...its hard to keep up sometimes.  Anyway you can probably imagine the mayhem at times with all of us running to see who or what is walking by the house. 

I finally learned to operated the Doggie Door....Gabbie's legs are still to short to open it but Babs and I help hold it open for her.  She'll get it soon. 

I love when Mommy comes up to see me.  She hates to go home without me and promises one day soon she will take me home with her so I can play with Sunny.  He is so cute, don't you think? 

Mom needs to get me into puppy classes so I learn how to behave right.  I'm not sure about school but Sunny went and he did real good so I'm sure that "anything he can do I can do better".   So I guess I'll go.  Mom has taken my picture already to show Yolanda...she is the teacher.  Everyone loves Yolanda I hear, cause she carries treats around in her pockets all the time!!!!  How great is thast.

Hey man! I got a package in the mail today. I had one from Chloe when I got cutest puppy contest but it was addressed to my Mommy and this one was addressed to me and Gabbie.  No human's name or anything...just to Millie and Gabbie.  Boy were we excited.  Wait til you hear what was in it.   Mommy had bought Gab and me some new clothes.... we each had a blinged out t-shirt for spring...one was purple and one was pink.  The pink one had a butterfly with shiney beads; and the purple one had a heart with pink and purple beads and sequins.  Then they each had this pretty little pink flower on the bottom. And that wasn't all.  We got Easter Outfits.  Mine is light green dress with purple trim and purple little flowers.  And a green bow and listen to this; our very own sunvisors to match with flowers and decorations and our names on them.  Mine was purple and Gabs was pink.  Her dress was blue with pink trim and a blue bow.  It was trimmed with pink beads.  They were so pretty.  Aunt Karen says she is gona get a big easter basked and take us to a place called Olan Mills and put us in the basket with our easter outfits and have a portrait made ...? Don't exactly kn ow what that is all about but she seems to be excited about it so I guess its okay.  She said we'd have to ride in the car and that bothers me cause we get car sick every time she tries to take us for a ride.  Mommy said she was gona get us some medicine.  I also got my toys from Chloe in the box and Gabbie tried to take my dolphin away as soon as sshe saw it.  Just tried to grab it and run.  Maybe her name should be grabbie instead of Gabbie.  So we ended up fighting over the toys all afternoon. Aunt Karen says she's gona get us some more.  Mommy brings us new ones when she comes but there are so many of us up here that we hardly can play with them without someone taking them away.  Seems they always want the ones we are playing with.  And what chance do we have since we are so tiny.  But we are now 6 months old.  I can't believe we are that old alredy.  Wow... we'll be grown before you know it.  Well, its getting late so I guess I should go on to bed.  Still have to vote on the April contest and enter in the pretty eyes contest.  If I don't have time to talk to everyone tomorrow I hope you have a  wonderful weekend.  Its supposed to be yucky here after such a pretty week...Oh well.  Guess we'll just take naps.  Lots of Millie muchies (those are smuchies in case you don't know) to all my friends.
