Since My Mom's Surgery
Posted August 15, 2011 by Petmaster
My mom has had a long recovery. She was down for almost two months. Her retina is attached once again and now she has a cataract. It was caused by the surgery. So now she'll have to have that removed. We just don't know when. She did get her sight back in her eye. But the cataract makes it blurry. We haven't been able to do a lot this summer. Mom depth precepiton is sorta off. But we do go for walks.
I've been on a couple of my therapy visits. I do love to do that. Mom and Dad took me to our Farmers Market last Saturday. I enjoyed that. We then went out for lunch. I'm a service dog so I go where mom goes. I always love my work. It does have it's benefits. We went to a little place that serves hot dogs. I helped mom with the bun. The owner brought me over a bowl of water so I would have a drink with my bun. I love to be spoiled. Most places bring me food. They ask mom first.
Our summer hasn't been a hot one like everyone across the states. Mom was even sleeping with the electric blanket on in July. Unheard of around here for summer.
I'm now looking forward to more therapy visits and all the holidays the next few months will bring!

My Mom Had Surgery
Posted April 18, 2011 by Petmaster

A week ago today my mom had to have emergency surgery. She had a detached retina. She still can't see out of her eye but was told her vision will come back. I've been working so hard trying to keep her safe. Being a service dog isn't easy. Mom said I need to eat but I don't want to leave her side for very long. Now Dad is feeding me right in bed with mom. Mom has to lay on her left side at all times. She has hour slots to sit up at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I haven't been on the computer to thank everyone for the things sent to me. So thank you now. I'd better run. I'm thinking of you all. Hugs, Stormy

College Visit
Posted March 14, 2011 by Petmaster

My last therapy visit was called Pet A Pup To Destress. I attended OIT in Klamath Falls Oregon. The program allowes the students to come and relax with us therapy dogs. The college doesn't allow dogs on campus so the students that live there are without their fur babies.  That's where we come in. My therapy group Angels In Whiskers are invited every semester during final week. The students come and relax between studying and taking finales. It's such a wonderful program.

We get so much love from these kids. They are missing their own babies and just enjoy hugging, petting and rolling on the floor with us. I don't mind all the attention and the massages. Humans pay for such things.

Mom enjoys talking with the students about their pets at home. It helps them to tell stories about their babies. They light up while talking about them.

The students thank us for coming and sharing our time with them. We sure enjoy it as much as they do. What a wonderful way to spend a day.

Dog Of The Day
Posted July 29, 2007 by Petmaster

Hi every one, I tried to blog yesterday to invite everyone to come over to the dog channel. I was the Dog Of The Day. It was so much fun. I had lots of friends come by to visit. My Mom and Dad  went to petsmart and bought me a new toy, shirt and a new water dish. I got extra goodies. Today I went to a barbecue cook off. I was an offical taste tester. My mom put that on my new shirt. My mom and dad were entered in the contest.  They took first place. I could of told them their chicken was the best. I always knew it was. I also got to play with my first Shih Tzu. It was sooooooo much fun. We had a great time. We do play different than any other dog.  I'd better go now because I'm really tired tonight.

Classic car show
Posted July 20, 2007 by Petmaster

Hi everyone.  I hope your summers have been fun.  I'm starting to get out a lot now. I've had all my shots and ready to meet the world.  So far this summer I've been to the 4th of July fireworks display at the park , classic car show, and a street fair.  Mom says I draw a lot of attention every where I go.  I loved the fireworks and didn't even flinch at the sounds they made. I walked down the street like I owned the place. It was my first time in public walking. I got an ice cream sundae that night and also a hot dog for dinner. Yum! You have to love the guy who invented ice cream and hot dogs. The next big event was the car show.  I loved it. I walked on grass to see all the cars. My mom even had a lady try to trade a diamond necklace for me. She told her no way. I thought at least she could of offered a Bentley for me. We were at a car show. It was a very hot day at the car show. My dad would carry me over any road so my feet wouldn't get hot. I also got to have nachos with shredded pork. It was really good. Dad bought me a bottle of water to go with that. My brother thought I was so hot that he bought me a snow cone. I loved that and ate the whole thing. After all the walking I went home and laid in front of the air conditioner and took a long nap.  Last night I went to a street fair. There was lots of music. I really liked that. I sat in front of this guy who was singing and just grooved with the music. I really enjoyed his singing. The funny thing was, he was trying to sing and not laugh at me. I guess he wasn't use to having fur people enjoy his songs! I walked all the streets of our town. I met lots of new friends. I got so much attention and lots of hugs and pets. I even took time out and shared a cookie with my mom. I sure can't wait until the next event. I'm always ready to go. I've also won two photo contest this summer. Not bad for only being 5 months old.
