My Dog is having constant potty accidents in the house, since we moved.
I have a 10 year old chocolate Lab. named Chole. My family and I have moved out of the states and now live in Asia. We have friends staying at our house and have been taking care of the dogs. However, Chloe has not taken our move very well and constantly is getting sick in the house and having accidents. What do we do?
Answer:
When comes to the potty problem:
Spayed/neutered dogs develop frequent house-soiling issues (especially at the 10 year mark). I would suggest using this great natural supplement (it can only help).
If the issues only occurred after your leave then it is mainly due to separation anxiety/stress. Natural and artificial calming substances exist to combat this -- here is my suggestion.
Existing smells from potty spots can cause repeated soiling. Clean all affected areas with an enzyme based potty cleaning product like the cleaning kit from Planet Urine.
Mental exercise (e.g. training) and physical exercise (e.g. playing, walking, running) would release pent-up energy.
I would advise having Chloe crated in all instances when supervision cannot be given (6 hours at a time if necessary). If a backyard is an option this would be an alternative to being constantly crated.
Your care taker needs to check Chloe by a Vet. for urinary/fecal incontinence.
