This months Poster Child is Maile Nei.  This is her story...

My old dad paid $650 for me in Nevada and brought me to CA. He said he was going to teach me to be a hunter. My old mommy did not like me because I was somewhat unruly at the time. I loved to give her wet kisses and tried to sit on her lap. I did this for 1 1/2 years and finally my old mom said - enough is enough. My dad found my new mommy at the park, with my soon to be brother and asked my new mom if she knew anyone who wanted me. My new mommy fell in love with me and so did my new to be brother - so she told the man she would think about keeping me. The man called in two days and told my new mommy to come and get me because he was going out of town. My new mom came and took me straight to the Vet to make sure I was healthy. My aunt works at a Vet so she gave me a clean bill of health and I went to live with my new mom. I did not miss my old mom or dad at all. I don't think I loved them and mommy says I was not attached to them. I loved my new home. My new mommy agreed that I did not behave very well. My new mommy got this man named Joey to come to visit me every week and I learned very quickly to be a good girl and now I know how to mind my manners - most of the time. Mommy says that my old parents did not take the time to teach me to behave and be mannered and that is why I was more than they could handle. So I guess you could say I was adopted and I love my new mommy to death and My new mommy loves me so much. She says I am her sweetheart and yes I still give those wet kisses to everyone I love.
